Dopo l’edizione senza show dello scorso anno, per la loro ottantesima edizione i Golden Globe Awards sono tornati in grande spolvero al format di sempre, con una cerimonia che ha visto The Fabelmans di Steven Spielberg conquistare i premi più ambiti, quelli per il miglior film drammatico e il miglior regista. Ottimo risultato anche per Gli spiriti dell’isola (The Banshees of Inisherin) di Martin McDonagh, premiato per miglior film musical o commedia, miglior attore in un film musical o commedia (Colin Farrell) e miglior sceneggiatura. Nessuna vittoria per Avatar: la via dell’acqua, che probabilmente si rifarà agli Oscar.
Nell’ambito delle serie tv, House of the Dragon conquista il titolo di miglior serie drammatica, ma è Abbott Elementary a portarsi a casa la maggior parte dei premi, con miglior serie tv musical o commedia, miglior attrice in una serie tv musical o commedia (Quinta Brunson) e miglior attore non protagonista in una serie tv (Tyler James Williams).
