Stanotte si sono tenuti gli ottantunesimi Golden Globe Awards, un’edizione importante poiché la prima sotto la nuova gestione della Dick Clark Productions e la Eldridge Industries, e trasmessa sulla CBS e Paramount+. Prima di quest’anno infatti l’evento era sempre stato gestito dalla HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association), negli ultimi anni al centro di importanti controversie, e trasmesso per gran parte delle edizioni sulla NBC.
Grande successo per Oppenheimer di Christopher Nolan, che si è aggiudicato i premi per miglior film drammatico, miglior regista, miglior attore protagonista, miglior attore non protagonista e miglior colonna sonora. Ottimi riconoscimenti anche per Povere creature, The Holdovers e Anatomia di una caduta, e grande soddisfazione da parte degli appassionati di animazione per la vittoria de Il ragazzo e l’airone. Al di là di un riconoscimento per il successo commerciale, a Barbie invece è andato solo un premio per la miglior canzone originale (“What Was I Made For?” di Billie Eilish e Finneas). Infine, il lato televisivo della premiazione ha visto messo sul podio le serie Succession, The Bear e Beef.
